M&S Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled and experienced Residential HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in residential settings
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment
- Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Install and connect electrical components and wiring
- Test electrical circuits and components to ensure compatibility and safety
- Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Educate homeowners on proper HVAC system operation and maintenance
- Collaborate with other technicians (e.g., plumbers, electricians) as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Valid HVAC technician certification preferred (e.g., NATE, EPA Section 608)
- 3+ years of experience in residential HVAC installation and service preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heat pumps, furnaces, and air conditioners
- Familiarity with electrical systems and components related to HVAC
- Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship - preferred
