Position Summary

Our client is hiring an experienced and versatile

HVAC technician

who thrives on solving technical challenges, installing residential HVAC systems, delivering world-class customer service, and identifying sales opportunities. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with a strong background in HVAC service, residential installation, and customer-facing sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems with precision and care Perform complete system installations, including split systems, ductwork, furnaces, air handlers, condensers, thermostats, IAQ products, and smart home devices. Recommend system upgrades, service plans, and accessories based on customer needs. Mentor junior techs and apprentices in the field. Support permitting and compliance procedures in accordance with local codes. Participate in rotating on-call/weekend coverage-especially during peak seasons. Support the shop and team when service calls slow (equipment prep, restocking, etc.). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong sales and upselling skills in a residential environment. Proven ability to diagnose systems, read schematics, and communicate technical concepts clearly. Willingness to train, lead, and inspire others in the field. Team player with a service-first mindset and a commitment to doing things right Comfortable working in crawlspaces, attics, and all weather conditions. Must own your own HVAC hand tools. Must live within 30 minutes of Oak Park, IL. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Strong personal presentation, hygiene, and customer communication skills. Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET). 3-6 years of experience in residential HVAC service and installation. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (NATE certification a plus).
