Senior Systems Engineer
to join a dynamic private IT services organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in Linux systems, automation, and infrastructure design, along with a strong mentoring mindset.
Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineer includes:
Design and implement solutions based on internal and customer requirements. Build, test, monitor, backup, and maintain production systems. Perform hardware installation, troubleshooting, and replacement (chassis, blades, CPU, RAM, disks, power supplies, cabling, etc.). Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Maintain documentation and utilize ticketing systems effectively. Make occasional trips to Phoenix metro area data centers as needed.
Requirements for the Senior Systems Engineer include:
Security Clearance: Active Secret or higher preferred; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Experience: 7+ years as an IT Systems Engineer in Linux environments. 7+ years of experience in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages (Java, C++, C#). 4+ years using Ansible for configuration management. Demonstrated ability to implement open-source projects in production. Technical Skills: Systems integration (hardware, software, security, networking). Troubleshooting across hardware, network, and applications. Virtualization/Containerization (QEMU/KVM, Docker, Podman). Familiarity with cloud platforms. OS: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL. Scripting: Python, Perl, Bash.
Compensation for the Senior Systems Engineer includes:
Salary Range: $160,000 - $170,000
depending on experience
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off, and sick leave as required by law
