Galaxy Automation Initiative Developer
The Galaxy Automation Initiative within the Information Technology and Digital Enablement organization is seeking talented automation developers with Ansible and OpenShift experience to support the Galaxy deployment automation and testbed platform. Qualified candidates should possess a broad knowledge across the software development tech stack. General responsibilities include: Ansible collection, role and playbook development and automation scripts within a community developed common codebase General knowledge of Kubernetes and specific knowledge and experience with Red Hat OpenShift Installation of system wide upgrades and maintenance Assist with the onboarding of applications into the Galaxy testbed Monitoring and maintenance of system dashboards, logs, audits Maintaining system documentation and onboarding guides using gitlab pages, markdown and confluence Compliance with and implementation of security requirements for deployment Collaborating with internal technical teams and supplier support Basic qualifications: Experience with Ansible Experience with Kubernetes container management systems Ability to troubleshoot solutions across the tech stack including networks, storage, compute, and application layers Basic understanding of security principles and how to map/trace them to IT components and functions Strong problem-solving mindset U.S. Citizenship (CUI data requirement); ability and willingness to obtain Secret Security Clearance Desired skills: Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Experience with developing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) Experience with SQL Experience with scripting languages and tools such as Python, with the ability to learn and transition to new programming languages as needed Experience with DevOps tools and concepts: Docker, Git (GitLab, GitHub), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD) Security clearance statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance level: Secret. Schedule for this position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $84,300 - $146,165. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
