Cryogenic Pressure Vessel Technician
Installs and maintain cryogenic pressure vessels in industrial, medical, specialty gas and welding markets. Attends in house and external training to become proficient in working with bulk gas delivery systems serviced by Airgas Mid South. Performs installation, preventative maintenance and repairs on bulk gas delivery systems manufactured or distributed by Airgas Mid South. Safely operates an Airgas vehicle from facility to customer locations to complete duties and work orders. Maintains company vehicle, tools, truck inventory and equipment to be able to respond to customer needs in a timely manner. Deliver, install and maintain all cryogenic pressure vessels in the customer base. Perform preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis of all cryogenic pressure vessels. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform duties. Handle hazardous materials daily in a safe and approved manner. Install piping and final line regulator systems for medical and industrial applications. Set alarms for automatic emergency reserve systems of gases at hospitals. Install manifolds for use with high pressure gas cylinders. Install and maintain cryogenic pumps and drives to all branch locations. Do sight surveys at prospective customer locations to determine what needs to be done to perform the installations. Install and maintain cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks. Maintain a clean and safe workplace and attend safety meetings. Follows the Airgas safety procedures and attends monthly safety meetings. Are You A Match?
General mechanical skills are required. High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. General mechanical skills are required. A clean MVR and valid driver's license is required. At least 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical and HVAC is required. Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Ability to distinguish between different colors on electrical schematics drawings is required. Ability to routinely lift 25, and occasionally up to 75 lbs. Ability to and perform work during prolonged standing (up to 8 hours). Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion requirements. Must be able to work inside and outside in temperatures ranging from 10 to 110 degrees. Ability to become forklift certified is required. Must have the ability to work independently with little or no supervision, given proper instructions, and under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer's needs and management's expectations. Must be willing to be away from home for up to 5 days at a time (Monday Friday) for installs and certification schools. Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
