Responsibilities
Seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team in an outpatient setting.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with board-certified surgeons, supporting a wide range of procedures.
This role involves direct patient care, pre- and post-operative evaluations, minor procedures, patient education, and care coordination.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and preoperative evaluations.
Manage post-operative care and follow-up visits, including wound care and suture/staple removal.
Assist in minor in-office procedures and injections under the supervision of a plastic surgeon
Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR system.
Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and long-term care.
Stay up to date with the latest advances in plastic and reconstructive surgery practices.
Minimum Requirements
Current and unrestricted PA license in Virginia
Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
Valid DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
BLS and ACLS certification required
Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in surgical specialties preferred; new graduates with strong surgical rotations may be considered
Strong clinical skills in wound management and surgical care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
EMR proficiency (e.g., Epic experience is a plus)
