SUMMARY:

The Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians will be responsible for the oversight of the Refrigeration Department to ensure a safe operation and preventive maintenance of the entire Ammonia Refrigeration system. The Technician must have the ability to read schematics, maintain, PM, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of Ammonia Refrigeration equipment, Steam Generators and associated equipment, Hot Water Systems, HVAC Equipment, Air Compressors, Chillers, Water Pumps, along with all support and building services.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES: • Skills in the installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration system equipment and components, locating and diagnosing trouble in the refrigeration system or equipment. • Must be able to maintain and repair compressors, refrigeration controls, condensers, etc. • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the refrigeration trade. • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations.

Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. • Must ensure safety in all work done.

Complies with all OSHA Regulation and PSM requirements. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ammonia Refrigeration Certificate preferred. 2 to 5 years manufacturing ammonia & refrigeration: 3 years (Preferred) Must be physically able to perform duties as required (Pulmonary test, Physical)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: • Must be able to wear an equipment tools belt weighing up to ten pounds. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Typical physical demands include frequent work on lifts, ladders, and rooftops and other harder-to-access areas. The employee is occasionally required to walk; lift, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and operating power tools. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
