Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
The Graduate Teaching Assistant provides valuable support to the Law School Professional Development program. Assist with evaluating student submissions in Professional Development classes for compliance with assignment requirements. Assist in the creation of course assignments and presentations, including conducting subject matter research and developing materials. Acquire and maintain knowledge of Professional Development course guides and class policies; make informed decisions based on course guides, precedent, and policies; assist students by responding to routine questions regarding the courses. Assist with administrative tasks, including room reservations, parking passes for guest speakers, and other administrative duties. Track and report class attendance. Communicate with students via email and Suitable. Post assignments to Suitable and Blackboard. Acquire and maintain knowledge of any database or software necessary to support the Professional Development curriculum, including Suitable. Work independently without daily supervision; exercising professional judgment when consulting with students and law school staff and faculty. Manage time and adhere to time-sensitive deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of projects and course assignments. Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at Villanova University. Students enrolled in a Master's Degree program in Business Administration, Education (with a Concentration in Higher Education Leadership, or Educational Policy), Human Resource Development, Public Administration, or Counseling (with a concentration in School Counseling) are especially encouraged to apply. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strict attention to detail and reliability. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to handle difficult situations. Must have ability to work and make decisions independently. Must have ability to perform repetitive tasks with great accuracy and consistency. Must have experience using software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience using Blackboard is preferred.
