Temp-Administrative Assistant
A local family-focused organization is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support in a professional office setting. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a professional demeanour when working with staff, clients, and external partners. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Serve as backup receptionist by greeting clients and visitors, answering calls, and directing inquiries.
Perform general typing, data entry, and correspondence for agency programs.
Maintain filing systems, including opening and closing cases in the electronic health record.
Check and monitor client medical assistance eligibility at designated intervals.
Assist in creating program documentation and monthly reports.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, postage, and fax distribution.
Provide administrative support for Children Cope with Divorce classes and other agency programs as needed.
Interact with staff, clients, and external partners to ensure quality service delivery.
Perform additional related duties to ensure efficient office workflow.
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma required.
Minimum of three (3) years of general office experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to operate standard office equipment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Capacity to respond appropriately to diverse clientele and staff.
Knowledge of telephone etiquette and professional customer interaction.
Benefits/Compensation
Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk)
