W3Global Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join a rapidly-growing team at Baltimore Penn Station, the 8th busiest train station in the United States. The historic station and surrounding properties are being redeveloped into a new mixed-use destination and true multimodal transit hub. You will put your skills and passion to work as the team repurposes bustling Penn Station to include Class A office space, new retail offerings, and a new state-of-the-art concourse to handle increased ridership. We are looking for a talented professional who embraces a hands-on property management philosophy and thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Ensure that all building systems are operated safely, efficiently, and as originally intended. Systems include HVAC, water treatment plants, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment. Assist Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer with data entry of building equipment and tasks, and scheduling of the Preventive Maintenance program. Complete all service requests in a timely manner. Self-initiate service requests as needed. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Work with vendors and contractors within the building. Troubleshoot and repair building systems. Monitor all building systems. Respond to building emergencies. Continuously look for opportunities to improve maintenance processes and make recommendations. Respond to 24-hour emergency calls as required. Carry a mobile phone while on-call. Be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Maintain and control inventory as needed for cost-effective operations. Prepare reports and documentation as required. Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned. Measures of Accountability Perform job tasks efficiently with proficiency and quality. Respond promptly and professionally to all tenant requests. Achieve customer satisfaction based on feedback and survey results. Qualifications Thorough understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems, including emerging technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Advanced computer skills; experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. Strong customer service skills. Experience with multiple versions of BMS/EMS systems; able to assist with trend log analysis. Ability to read blueprints. Reliable transportation required. Minimum of four years of experience in commercial real estate maintenance and operations. Experience with Central Plant Equipment such as chillers, boilers, thermal storage, pumps, heat exchangers, and electrical power distribution. Ability to interact professionally with management, customers, and officials. Independent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work overnight shifts if required. Comfort with digital technology and property management software. Ability to obtain lift operation credentials and work at heights. Knowledge of repair tools and procedures, including HVAC and plumbing repairs. Ability to test fire pumps and emergency generators, and understand fire alarm systems. Education High school diploma or equivalent; two-year college or technical degree preferred. CFC Universal certification required. Additional certifications are a plus. Seniority level
