The City of New Orleans is seeking candidates for a technical, supervisory, and administrative role directing staff in the operation and maintenance of the East Bank and West Bank Water Treatment Plants. This position ensures compliance with state health standards through regular water testing and meticulous record-keeping. Additionally, it involves participation in operational planning and other related duties as required. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a current Class IV Water Treatment License issued by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, and either permanent status as a Water Treatment Supervisor with two years of experience in that classification or two years of related supervisory experience in a water purification plant, both under a personally held current Class IV Water Treatment License issued by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. Some positions may require a current Louisiana Commercial Drivers License. Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. However, all new full-time employees hired into this classification on or after January 1, 2013 must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. Airport and public safety employees are excluded from this provision.
