What to Expect

We are looking for a Camera Validation Engineer to join the Camera Hardware Engineering team. The candidate will manage a diverse set of responsibilities including the development of new camera modules, Image sensor validation, creating sensor specifications, perform Image quality validations and drive Image sensor, camera module bring-up from design through mass production for the next generation of camera systems. The camera hardware engineering team manages the full development lifecycle of camera systems for Tesla's vehicle and robotics platforms. What You'll Do

As a Camera Validation Engineer, you will work on camera system level characterization, calibration and provide manufacturing test support

Experience debugging, testing and bringing up complex hardware/software vision systems and Image Quality

Interact and drive vendors to verify requirements and validating their implementations

Develop metrics and methodologies for internally and externally validating system requirements including emulation of current and future camera/vision systems

Support algorithms and tuning validations through iterative testing

Perform lab tests for objective camera evaluation and benchmark testing

Collaborate with internal camera system hardware and Autopilot software engineering teams to understand requirements and opportunities for future feature development

Assess and demonstrate new image sensors, LWIR and SWIR sensing technologies

What You'll Bring

Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related area with strongsoftwareengineering experience or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of CMOS Image sensor, ISP Tuning and Cameras Systems

Experience with Image Sensor characterization and instrumentation

Experience with camera module bring-up SW and HW with Ser-Des

Working knowledge of Electro, optical, mechanics in a camera module

Experience with Python, MATLAB and C/C++ is plus

Experience working in a Linux command line environment

Experience with standard Image quality tools and Software

Ability to drive tasks independently and escalate and communicate issues and needs clearly

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
