PN Teaching Assistant - Lab - Part-Time
SUMMARY
The PN Teaching Assistant - Lab is responsible for maintaining the lab activities associated with the Practical Nursing curriculum to ensure an optimum learning environment. The PN Teaching Assistant - Lab must have an excellent knowledge of nursing skills, lab equipment, teaching and instruction methods and practices, and record keeping procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Supervise and evaluate students in the lab setting; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted while performing assigned duties. Coordinate and facilitate all facets of the lab setting, including but not limited to:
Provide training to faculty, staff, and students pertaining to lab requirements to enter a site, health and safety precautions, conduct, communication, and patient-related activities. Recordkeeping. Scheduling.
Assess educational needs of students and their ability to work effectively in the lab. The PN Teaching Assistant - Lab is responsible for ensuring that all OBN regulations related to the lab experience are adhered to by faculty. Conducts lab inventory and is responsible for obtaining and maintaining inventory and ensuring that documentation is accurate and complete. Assist with curriculum development, as needed Assist with regulatory visits prep, as requested Attend voluntary and required professional development training and provide documentation of proof of attendance. Attend meetings when required such as faculty meetings. IAIA meetings, and Program Advisory Committee meetings. Other duties related to lab as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

This job operates in an academic classroom (Lab) setting. It is an onsite position.
TRAVEL
This position is expected to have occasional travel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires regular communication, close vision, and focus adjustment. Duties include standing for up to 4 hours, lifting to 50 lbs., and daily typing. Employees must follow job-specific procedures and operate equipment per curriculum guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a part-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hours may vary and outside of regular school hours may be required.
Requirements:
Education, Work History and Licensing Requirements:
RN, BSN preferred
Three years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care. Two years must be as an RN. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Unencumbered, current Registered Nurse Licensure in Ohio (License must be renewed as required by BON) Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to navigate student learning system and student learning platforms Proficient writing and communication skills Excellent professionalism and work ethic The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
