Teaching Assistant Position
The department of Education Policy Studies is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Teaching Assistant in HIED 302. Job duties to include: Assist faculty in the facilitation of synchronous and asynchronous course functions i.e. lectures, online sessions, team meetings, discussion boards, etc. Prepare classroom in advance of instruction; ensure required course materials are available Attend regular classroom sessions Conduct discussion/review sessions as a supplement to faculty instruction Evaluate homework, papers, laboratory reports, examinations, etc. in a timely manner; provide sufficient feedback to enhance learning experience; record grades using established criteria Hold office hours to respond to student questions in person on the 4th floor of the Rackley building Review class material with students; discuss text and assignments; coach solutions to problems Correspond with students via email, phone, online platform, and in person Contribute to course materials, such as examinations and assignments Track student attendance, as requested by faculty member Report any suspected academic integrity issues to the designated faculty member May assist faculty with course planning May maintain course Learning Management System site May perform the duties of Proctor Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies: PhD student in Higher Education, Educational Theory and Policy, Educational Leadership or Education Policy and Leadership Attended TA training Schedule: Office hours to be held in person on the 4th floor of the Rackley building.
