Network Engineer
to join our team
ON SITE, in Dallas, TX.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to manage and maintain our organizations core network infrastructure. This includes responsibilities across servers, virtualization platforms, network devices, and backup/recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will be adept in Windows Server and VMware environments, with a strong focus on ensuring high availability, capacity, and security of critical systems and services.
Job Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage Windows Server and VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
Maintain virtual machine reliability and perform preventive maintenance
Upgrade and maintain network infrastructure, including diagnosing and resolving issues
Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures and schedules
Ensure integrity of backup data and conduct regular restore testing and disaster recovery verification
Automate tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell and automation tools like Ansible
Perform configuration management and monitor virtualized resources
Troubleshoot and document hardware/software errors and resolutions
Act as technical owner for critical business systems and provide advanced support for network/server issues
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure high availability and optimal performance of systems
Provide guidance and training to junior staff as needed
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
Strong experience with Windows Server administration
Proficient in networking technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell; familiarity with Python and Ansible is a plus
Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to respond quickly to outages and performance issues
Relevant certifications such as:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Regular and predictable attendance
