Software Engineer
This position requires that you currently possess and maintain an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires to obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work. Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products related to Machine Learning, NLP, etc., and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Experience in languages such as Java, C++, Go, Python, or full-stack development. Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph. Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. Experience working collaboratively with various partner teams such as Product Managers and other Engineering teams. Experience in two or more general purpose programming languages, preferably in back-end programming. Experience productizing new technologies, from concept prototyping through to volume production. Experience using GCP, GDC, or other Cloud services and with Kubernetes. Responsibilities: Develop prototypes and build front-ends and back-ends for greenfield projects. Work with Google Public Sector (GPS) Sovereign Engineering and Google Distribute Cloud Engineering to survey existing pain points, and propose solutions and improvements. Participate in and lead architecture and engineering designs with peers and stakeholders, and exercise technical judgment (e.g., deciding between available technologies). Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Articulate technical concepts and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences, including engineers and executives.
