Software Engineer
This position requires that you currently possess and maintain an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires to obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work. Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. 5 years of experience in software development. Experience with Kubernetes. Experience in languages such as Java, C++, Go, Python, or full-stack development. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities: Develop prototypes and build front-ends and back-ends for greenfield projects. Work with GPS Sovereign Engineering and Google Distribute Cloud Engineering to survey existing pain points, and propose solutions and improvements. Participate in and lead architecture and engineering designs with peers and stakeholders, and exercise technical judgment (e.g. deciding between available technologies). Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Articulate technical concepts and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences, including engineers and executives.
