Senior Software Quality Test Engineer

As a member of an innovative team of IT professionals, you will work closely with talented engineers and product owners across the globe to build and deploy enterprise applications that are used to run our business internally at Pega. The IT QA team plays an important role in helping Pega to grow by partnering with the business to roll out high quality, scalable enterprise applications for internal teams (Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Consulting, HR, Order Management, IT), external stakeholders, clients, and partners. We strive for excellence and embrace agile methodologies to achieve it. In this role you will provide testing services for the Digital Center of Excellence SCRUM team in IT. You will be part of a global team working on our latest Blueprint and GenAI products that are changing the way that Pega does business. You will be responsible for the overall quality of the applications and will create and execute test plans and regression test suites as well as drive test automation initiatives. You will work collaboratively with the QA lead and global QA team members, technical leads, software engineers, product owners and business users to ensure quality deliveries of value to the business. Please note, because of the nature of this role's exposure to federal contracts, we are unable to sponsor or transfer visas for this position, nor work on C2C at this time. What You'll Do at Pega: Develop and execute test plans and regression suites for digital applications. Perform manual and automated testing to ensure comprehensive feature coverage. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint grooming, planning, and product reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and document high-quality test specifications. Apply best practices in functional and automated testing. Identify and report defects using advanced testing tools and methodologies. Provide feedback during code reviews and retrospectives. Mentor junior QA engineers and support onboarding activities. Develop test planning and automation strategies across the team. Who You Are: You are a seasoned QA professional with: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline / BE/B. Tech or Equivalent 4-7 years of experience in software quality assurance Practical knowledge of software testing best practices Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Expertise in CMS platforms (Drupal/WordPress), cross-browser testing, and mobile platforms (Windows, OSX, iOS, Android). Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Xray). Knowledge of API testing, web technologies (HTTP, HTML/CSS, web services). Familiarity with Java, XML, and enterprise technologies (SOAP, MQ, JMS, Oracle/MSSQL/DB2). Knowledge of GenAI concepts and a passion for test automation and code quality. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. What You've Accomplished: Delivered high-quality releases through rigorous testing across web, mobile, and API layers. Worked collaboratively on a Scrum team with both onshore and offshore QA and Engineering resources Adept at converting requirements into test design, test cases and test execution for the product's new features Experienced in development and implementation of comprehensive and integrated testing plans Demonstrated proficiency in Java, Selenium, TestNG, and scripting languages (Python, Shell). Applied Agile/Scrum practices to streamline QA processes and improve delivery timelines. Diagnosed and resolved complex issues through debugging and root cause analysis. Championed QA best practices and fostered a culture of continuous improvement.
