Our Commodities Technology team develops and supports data, research, and trading platforms for our commodities portfolio managers. We are seeking a Rapid Application Developer to assist with this work. The ideal candidate will have a blend of experimental and engineering skills, focusing on end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced, consultant-like environment. The candidate should be able to quickly explore and deploy new solutions. Responsibilities
Understand and translate business problems into working solutions. Engage directly with portfolio managers to address their development needs. Develop research and trading applications using Python (Django, Flask, Tornado, FastAPI), front-end frameworks (React/Angular), and AWS technologies (S3, SQS, Batch, etc.). Implement software solutions in an agile manner, following modern practices such as comprehensive testing, version control, CI/CD (Jenkins), and scheduling/orchestration tools (Airflow, VisualCron). Manage and operate DEV/UAT/PROD deployment environments following DevOps practices. Mandatory Requirements
3+ years of professional experience in Python application development. Experience with data-intensive applications using Pandas, NumPy, etc. Experience developing web frontends with React and/or Angular. Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience delivering end-to-end solutions from problem statement to deployment. Preferred Requirements
Understanding of financial markets, especially commodities, including market data experience. Experience with data visualization tools like Plotly, Matplotlib, Bokeh, Dash. Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Athena, SQS, Batch, Lambda. Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). The estimated base salary range is $175,000 to $250,000, specific to New York, and may vary. Compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and benefits, tailored based on experience and qualifications. Additional Details
