Overview Sr. Software Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx) – role at LPL Financial. This position focuses on hands-on development of the Developer Experience Platform, reference implementations, and self-service automation/scaffolding and orchestration engines for Web, Mobile, API, and AI Agents. You will work autonomously while driving collaboration and development best practices across the team.

Job Overview As a Sr Software Engineer, you will perform hands on development of the Developer Experience Platform, Reference implementation and Self-Service automation/Scaffolding and Orchestration engine development for Web, Mobile, API and AI Agents. You will be working autonomously while driving collaboration, and development best practices among team.

Responsibilities

Participate in Agile Scrum, PI Planning and work with Scrum Master, RTE, Project Manager to estimate key deliverables and milestone management.

Hands on AWS Cloud Native application development (web, Mobile, API and AI), microservice development, unit testing, automation test case, performance testing, security and vulnerability resolution and best practices.

Drive code reviews, developer community of practice, technical demos, office hours with the developer community for knowledge sharing and solving pain points while bringing innovative solutions.

Write documentation of technical requirements/runbooks/DR strategy/release management/design documents/FAQ documentation.

Passion to develop innovative solutions to simplify processes and enhance developer productivity and experiences across the enterprise.

Requirements

8+ years of end-to-end application development experience in C# .NET based cloud hosted web, mobile and microservice development.

2+ years of Angular/Typescript

1+ years of experience in agent development (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI API, etc.) or plugin development using .NET, Python, Node, ReactJS, AngularJS.

1+ Web development experience using Angular, HTML, CSS, SCSS, etc.

1+ year of hands-on experience in Self Service Application, Infrastructure and Architecture one-click template automation and orchestration engine development.

Minimum 2 years of experience in an orchestration platform (EKS, OpenShift).

1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies: IAM, Security Groups, API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, ElasticSearch, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Terraform templates, Secret Manager, Parameter Store, Kinesis, CloudWatch, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools.

Core Competencies

Developing complete solutions considering sizing, infrastructure, data protection, disaster recovery, security, and application requirements on cloud enterprise systems.

Experience adhering to an Agile development environment and iterative sprint cycle.

Deep understanding of API design, OpenAPI specifications, GitOps, Dark Release/Deployment practices, and IaC.

Develop unit tests and automation test scripts; improve test coverage for existing codebase.

Hands-on experience with performance testing (JMeter, Postman) and code quality/coverage tools (e.g., SonarQube, Veracode), GitHub Actions, AWS CLI, Docker, and related tooling.

Preferences

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science.

Hands-on Terraform template (blueprint) development.

Hands-on Apache Kafka and AWS resources (S3, Lambda, EKS, EC2, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, etc.).

Framework/utility development experience and Python expertise.

Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, developer advocacy, and ability to lead developer communities of practice.

Certified AWS Solutions Architect is a plus.

Pay Range $106,125-$176,875/year. Actual base salary varies based on factors including relevant skill, prior experience, education, internal peers, performance, and location. LPL Total Rewards package includes benefits such as 401K matching, health benefits, stock options, PTO, and more.
