Join a Leading Neonatology Team in Beautiful Roanoke, VA!

We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Neonatologist to join an esteemed group of 10 neonatologists and 5 neonatal nurse practitioners at a regional perinatal center in the charming city of Roanoke, Virginia. This is an incredible opportunity to practice advanced neonatology medicine while enjoying a vibrant small-town lifestyle in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide expert neonatal care at a 60-bed regional perinatal center and a 6-bed Level 2 NICU.
  • Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or participate as Associate Medical Director, ensuring high-quality clinical care and operational excellence.
  • Oversee advanced NICU services including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide therapy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, and neonatology team members.
  • Support medical education by working with Virginia Tech School of Medicine students and residents (pediatric and family practice).
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research projects within the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative.
  • Provide clinical coverage including day shifts, on-call, and weekend duties as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in leadership meetings and committees.
  • Permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area.
  • Accepting visa candidates (J1 Visa Only).
Qualifications
  • Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in Neonatology - REQUIRED
  • Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain - REQUIRED
  • Clean malpractice and medical license history - HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in neonatology for Medical Director role.
  • Ability to engage in quality improvement and research initiatives.
License and Certification Requirements
  • Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) Neonatologist.
  • DEA must be obtained prior to start.
  • Willingness to relocate to the local area if not already residing in it.
  • Visa support required for J1 or H1B candidates.
