Job Title: QMS Specialist
Job Description
The Quality System Representative is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 standards. This role involves managing documentation, coordinating audits, supporting training programs, and facilitating cross-site consistency in quality practices.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain QMS documentation to meet ISO 9001 standards and company-specific requirements across multiple sites. * Process Document Change Orders, coordinate training on updates, and manage red-line systems. * Ensure controlled copies of documentation are accessible and compliant. * Coordinate periodic reviews of QMS documentation and facilitate follow-up training. * Support customer audits, serve as audit escort, and assist with audit responses. * Lead corporate consistency efforts and manage related documentation. * Oversee training programs at the Hickory site, including new hire orientation. * Participate in Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) and customer complaint systems. * Sign off on quality system forms and participate in Quality Council meetings. * Collaborate with departments such as QMS, HR, and administration.
Essential Skills
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and their implementation in manufacturing. * Ability to maintain and update 800-1200 documents with pending changes. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across departments. * Ability to convert requirements into clear written procedures. * Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects. * Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent. * Preferred degree in office administration, communications, quality system management, or equivalent experience. * 2-5 years of experience in ISO 9001-certified or highly regulated environments with QMS involvement.
Work Environment
The work environment includes both office and plant settings with exposure to moderate noise, chemicals, dust, heat/cold, and allergens. Physical requirements include regular sitting, walking, standing, and keyboard use, occasional lifting/pushing (up to 20 lbs), bending, squatting, reaching, visual acuity for screen and document reading, and acute hearing for communication.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
