Winchester, VA 22601 (Virginia healthcare jobs) Assignment Length:
13-week contract (September 22, 2025 - December 22, 2025) Unit:
38-bed Medical Surgical unit Shift:
12-hour days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), 3 shifts/week Guaranteed Hours:
36 per week Weekend/Holiday:
Every other weekend and holiday required On-Call:
None EMR:
Epic (required) Patient Ratio:
1:4-5 Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia nursing license) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience Current ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA only), and NIHSS certifications Proficiency with Epic EMR Ability to float to Neurology and Orthopedics units Preferred: Experience in trauma, bariatrics, or surgical care Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
Provide exceptional nursing care to patients ages 15+ on a busy Medical Surgical unit Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team Accurately document patient care activities in Epic EMR Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols Float to Neurology and Orthopedics units as needed Educate patients and families on care plans and health management Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
