Posted on August 09, 2017 JOB TYPE: Full Time ADDRESS: 2121 K Street, NW #200, Washington, DC 20037 PROFESSIONAL LEVEL: Entry level DESCRIPTION The Digital Communications Coordinator supports and maintains key digital communications activities for the Lupus Foundation of America, including the website(s), email marketing, social media, cross-platform analytics, and digital (search and social) advertising. This position is an integral member of the Marketing and Communications Department, collaborating within and across departments to fulfill organizational goals. The role focuses on increasing web traffic, email lead generation, and social media engagement and growth. The individual stays updated on trends and implements compelling digital initiatives for diverse audiences. Working with the Director of Digital Communications, they coordinate and support the Foundation’s digital presence across programs, services, and campaigns. The ideal candidate will bring energy and initiative, helping to identify opportunities to enhance visibility of research, support services, and advocacy efforts. Primary Responsibilities: Website Publish, edit, and update website pages using a CMS. Ensure website content is accurate, current, and well-formatted. Support sponsored content placement and troubleshoot website issues. Monitor analytics and recommend improvements. Train content contributors on web publishing. Social Media Manage the Foundation’s social media channels, ensuring responsiveness and engagement. Stay informed on social media trends and best practices. Create and schedule posts, respond to comments, and engage with influencers. Develop strategies to increase followers and engagement. Email Marketing Coordinate and send email campaigns supporting programs and initiatives. Create lead generation strategies and maintain email lists. Reporting Track web and campaign analytics, preparing reports for staff. Support evaluation of the National Resource Center on Lupus as part of CDC reporting. Other Duties Provide online communications support to national network entities. Perform additional tasks as needed to advance the Foundation’s mission. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields. Relevant experience, preferably in PR or non-profit sectors. Interest in healthcare communications and patient advocacy preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HTML, CSS, CMS platforms, and analytics tools. Experience with social media management, project management tools, and SEO. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
