Nurse Manager Opportunity At UW Medical Center-Montlake
UW Medical Center-Montlake has a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join our Postpartum team. UW Medical Center-Montlake is the first Magnet Designated Hospital in the United States. We are proud of our accomplishment and have been awarded our seventh consecutive designation. Perinatal Services has approximately 150 deliveries a month. We adhere to AWHONN staffing standards and our Mother Baby Unit is comprised of 18 rooms and practices rooming in / couplet care. The manager will have direct oversight of 70 FTEs. As a quaternary care hospital, we see a high percentage (70%) of high-risk OB moms and neonates with medically complex co-morbidities. As a major academic hospital, we have 24/7 in-house coverage from: Residents, Attending Generalist OBs, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, CNMs and OB Anesthesia. We are a certified WHO-Baby Friendly Hospital with lactation consultants onsite to provide support. Responsibilities include recruiting and hiring, supervision, planning and implementation of programs to meet patients needs, continuous improvement of quality of care, and planning and managing the budget. Schedule: 100% FTE Day shift, Monday-Friday. Requirements include having/obtaining a Washington state nursing license, graduated from an accredited school of nursing, a Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field or enrolled in Master's program, and two or more years of formal supervisory leadership experience in perinatal nursing. Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualification except where there is a legal requirement such as license, certification/registration.
