Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Safety and Health Manager to support our satellite production facilities in Midland/Odessa, Texas. This position will focus on occupational safety and health programs, including regulatory compliance and injury prevention.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret existing and proposed EHS regulations to determine applicability and impact on operations; assist with implementation of EHS programs to ensure compliance.Partner with site leadership to continuously improve the culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS programs.Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.Conduct audits, industrial hygiene (IH) sampling, ergonomic assessments, and safety inspections.Create and update Job Hazard Analyses.Participate in tooling design and project reviews; provide regulatory requirements and recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Assist in accident/incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.Prepare and deliver EHS training, including instructor-led sessions.Participate in regulatory agency and external customer inspections; follow up on findings.Interface with employee-based safety committees, senior management, and other functional support groups to address safety concerns.Implement EHS management systems, sector-level programs, and associated documentation to proactively eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.Support site environmental compliance and sustainability programs as needed.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree and 5 years of occupational health and safety or related experienceORMaster's Degree and 3 years of related experienceExperienceA minimum of 5 years (with Bachelor's) or 3 years (with Master's) in occupational health and safety or related fieldPreferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in environmental health or occupational safetyPrevious experience in DoD, Military, or Aerospace facilitiesCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)Soft SkillsStrong interpersonal skillsProven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all documentation and project deliverablesAbility to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sourcesTechnology StackEHS management systemsIndustrial hygiene sampling toolsErgonomic assessment softwarePPE evaluation toolsMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Safety training platformsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in a standard office environmentAbility to conduct site inspections and assessmentsAbility to use a computer for extended periodsAST SpaceMobile is an Equal Opportunity, at will Employer; employment is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
