Depending on your package selection, Averro offers PTO, paid holidays, and legal insurance.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESWe are seeking a Materials Engineer for an innovative Nuclear Energy company located in Bellevue. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in metallurgy and data acquisition looking to further their career in the nuclear industry.The primary function of this role will be to develop material property correlations and advanced material performance models of complex materials phenomena based on data from literature and testing programs. These material performance models provide key input for the design and licensing of reactors.Compile datasets from literature for basic physical and mechanical properties, complex mechanical phenomena (e.g. creep, fatigue, creep-fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, and fracture), irradiation performance, corrosion, and tribologyPerform Qualification of Existing Data per ASME NQA-1-2015Develop material property correlations and advanced material performance models as input to computer codes and methods to demonstrate the performance of reactor systems, structures, and components.Plan, execute, and oversee test programs designed to address data gapsPerform quantitative and statistical analysis on test data and generate technical reports to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualificationsUpdate and maintain a Python-based material database QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or a Master's degree. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is desired.A solid understanding of metallurgy including fabrication and thermomechanical processing of ferrous (e.g., ferritic-martensitic steels) and nonferrous (e.g., nickel-base) alloys is requiredA general understanding of the design of nuclear reactor and subsequent impacts on materials would be considered a plusTravel required: up to 5%WHY AVERRO?Averro is a Veteran-Owned organizationdedicated to delivering innovative talent solutions, business consulting, andtechnology services that propel businesses and careers forward.
