Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the electronic health record system. Identify images and ensure images are sent to the imaging system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Preferred: Injection certification preferred; must be willing to complete during orientation process. Knowledge of relevant equipment preferred.
