As a Truck Driver, you will be a key member in timely transporting materials from one location to another. We are looking for a licensed driver who will work closely with our team of dispatchers to plan routes. A Class A license is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, and complete and submit vehicle reports at the end of each shift.
Safely load, secure, and unload waste materials.
Drive semi-trailers/tractor-trailers and operate walking-floor trucks along designated routes to landfills.
Maneuver trucks safely on the road and around facilities.
Tow trailers and be competent with air retailer gladhands.
Keep the truck and surrounding area clean by removing loose trash during loading and unloading.
Clean debris from the truck body on each run to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Interact courteously with customers and the public, responding to questions or requests.
Drive through commercial scales as required by DOT regulations.
Notify supervisors of issues needing management attention.
Maintain and submit DOT logs, route/productivity sheets, and vehicle condition reports.
Safely operate and unload the End Dump truck to ensure safe and effective transportation of materials.
Compensation:
$26.00 - $33.00 per hour
Qualifications:
CDL Class A license with no air brake restrictions.
At least two years of commercial truck driving experience or equivalent.
In the past 36 months, verified by MVR/driver abstract: no more than one moving violation or accident, no suspensions or revocations due to violations or accidents, and no DUI convictions.
Ability to maneuver trucks into and out of tight spaces using mirrors, with a backing distance of up to approximately 120 feet.
Ability to connect, disconnect, and tow trailers safely.
Follow safe operating practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Monitor operations for loose debris, using mirrors, sight, or sound, and inspect sites before and after pickup/delivery.
Excellent interpersonal skills for customer service.
Ability to read, write, and understand reports for daily assignments.
Physical Requirements:
Walking, bending, climbing, crouching, driving, sitting, and twisting.
Visual inspections of the truck and components.
Ability to lift at least 75 pounds daily.
Stamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work pace.
Reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping controls.
Effective communication with dispatch and supervisors.
Productivity Expectations:
Maintain efficient daily productivity for all tasks.
Ensure safe working conditions; report accidents and incidents immediately.
Keep the truck clean inside and outside daily.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Communicate effectively with managers and team members.
Maintain a positive attitude.
