Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Machinist/Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, programming, and inspection techniques. This role requires a combination of hands-on machining skills and advanced programming knowledge to produce high-quality parts and components for various industries.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and program CNC machines, including mills and lathes Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software Set up machines for production runs, including tooling and workholding Perform quality inspections on machined parts using various measuring instruments Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues and equipment malfunctions Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes and quality control data Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies Train and mentor junior machinists and operators Detailed Role Description
CNC Programming
As a Machinist/Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for various machining operations. This includes:
Utilizing CAD/CAM software to develop efficient and accurate CNC programs Writing and editing G-code and M-code for CNC machines Simulating and verifying programs to ensure proper tool paths and avoid collisions Optimizing cutting parameters for improved cycle times and tool life Developing and maintaining a library of proven programs for repeat jobs Staying current with the latest programming techniques and software updates CNC Machine Operation and Set-up
You will be expected to operate and set up various CNC machines, including:
Preparing machines for production runs by selecting and installing appropriate tooling Setting up workholding devices and fixtures to secure workpieces Inputting and verifying program parameters on machine controllers Performing tool offsets and making necessary adjustments during machining Monitoring machine performance and making real-time adjustments as needed Conducting regular maintenance and basic repairs on CNC equipment Quality Inspection
Ensuring the quality of machined parts is a crucial aspect of this role. You will be responsible for:
Performing in-process and final inspections of machined components Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs Interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications Documenting inspection results and maintaining quality control records Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts Participating in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
