About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President for State and Local Advocacy to serve as the chief visionary and strategist in advancing the organization's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing state and local government relations strategies that align with the global policy and advocacy goals. This role requires a JD with a minimum of 10 years' senior-level advocacy and leadership experience, including a strong background in immigration law and policies, particularly those affecting unaccompanied and separated children. The Vice President will be tasked with shaping and influencing legislative and regulatory programs, as well as fiscal opportunities, to support the rights and well-being of the children served by the organization.

Key responsibilities for the Vice President include external representation, relationship building, and team leadership. The role demands a proven ability to work across the aisle, manage coalitions, and build strategic relationships with diverse groups. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission of supporting unaccompanied immigrant and separated children and the ability to communicate this effectively. They should be adept at crafting high-impact external affairs strategies, managing key relationships with policymakers, and leading a team to ensure the timely completion of initiatives. The position also requires exceptional written and oral communication skills, the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and a commitment to the organization's values of justice and the safeguarding of children's rights.
