The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and resolving challenging issues within the Technical Support team, focusing on ServiceNow Technologies. This includes being the last point of escalation and mentoring junior team members. The candidate should quickly understand the ServiceNow platform, possess strong interpersonal and technical skills, and be flexible to work outside normal hours. This position requires onsite presence twice a week, currently Wednesdays and Thursdays. Must-Have Non-Negotiable Skills: Knowledge of databases and Object-Oriented programming (Java, JavaScript); ServiceNow knowledge is a plus. Experience working with customers in a support capacity is beneficial.
Skills and Backgrounds with Flexibility for On-the-Job Learning:
ServiceNow and Linux knowledge (can be learned on the job). Degree in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory with sufficient technical experience.
Interview Process: Initial screening with manager/recruiter (30 minutes) Technical panel interview with senior engineers (45-60 minutes) Behavioral and technical panel interview with managers (45-60 minutes)
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Knowledge of web application components. Experience with Object-Oriented programming (Java, others). Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Perl, Shell). Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle). Experience administering Linux/Unix or Windows Servers. Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, customer-focused, professional demeanor.
Desired Skills:
Understanding of ITSM, ITIL, CMDB. Deep JavaScript knowledge. Advanced experience with MySQL or Oracle. Experience diagnosing performance issues. Knowledge of remote administration tools (SSH, SNMP, WMI, PowerShell). Strong interpersonal skills and relevant experience (developer or database admin for 2+ years).
Pay Range:
$30-35.71/hr
