Medical Transcriptionist Location:

5 Months+ (with High possibility of Conversion/Extension)
Pay Range: $20 - $22/hr. on W2
Job Summary: The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing specialty medical dictation from physicians and clinical staff into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). This role includes editing reports per pathologist instructions, handling urgent communications, and performing clerical duties to support pathology operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Transcribe gross descriptions, and when required, microscopic diagnoses and other clinical details into LIS Edit and correct reports per pathologist instructions Communicate STAT and malignant results verbally to clients, as needed Retrieve and input patient clinical history when applicable Assist in preparing consultation cases for external review Maintain logs for send-outs and consultations Participate in training new transcription staff Select QC cases for pathologist review (PASR), if applicable Assign CPT codes following required training and documentation Identify and troubleshoot issues that could affect testing or reporting; escalate as needed Adhere to SOPs, including the Pathologist Electronic Signature Guidelines Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Experience:
0-3 years of medical transcription experience (preferably in pathology)
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical & Mental Requirements:
Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 25 lbs Prolonged standing and/or working at a bench Frequent walking and physical movement during shift
