EST, 8:00am - 4:30pm Job Summary: We are seeking a
Medical Transcriptionist
to transcribe medical dictation from clinical staff, edit reports per physician guidance, and ensure accurate medical documentation. The role requires strong knowledge of medical terminology, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to handle confidential patient information with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe
gross descriptions
and other clinical dictation into LIS systems. Edit and correct reports as directed by pathologists. Communicate STAT and malignant results verbally to clients as required. Prepare and manage
consultation case send-outs
and maintain related logs. Assist in training new staff members. Assign CPT codes once training is completed. Monitor and resolve transcription/reporting issues or escalate promptly. Follow all applicable SOPs including
Pathologist Electronic Signature Guidelines . Perform additional clerical or documentation duties as assigned. Required Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 0-3 years of
medical transcription
experience (preferred). Experience with pathology transcription highly valued. Nice-to-Have Experience:
Prior experience in a pathology or diagnostic laboratory environment. Experience assigning CPT codes. Clerical experience in healthcare settings. Required Skills:
Medical Terminology Knowledge Data Entry Accuracy Transcription Editing Preferred Skills:
Clerical & Organizational Skills Phone & Communication Skills LIS or Electronic Medical Record Systems Additional Skills:
Ability to lift/carry 1-25 lbs as needed. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
