As we grow, we're looking to add a talented Controls Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in our design group.Job Summary:As a Controls Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of industrial control panels and electrical schematics for automation systems. This is a hands-on role that will work closely with project managers, controls engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and code-compliant designs. Your expertise in control panel layout, component selection, and electrical drafting will directly contribute to the success of each project.Key Responsibilities:Design control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics using CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc.)Generate detailed electrical drawings and BOMs for fabrication and assemblyEnsure compliance with UL 508A, NEC, and other applicable codes and standardsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to support project timelines and technical requirementsAssist in hardware selection, panel sizing, and system troubleshooting during the design phaseParticipate in internal design reviews and revise drawings based on feedbackMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycleRequirements:Minimum 3 years of experience in control panel design and electrical draftingProficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD softwareStrong knowledge of industrial control systems, electrical standards, and componentsAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAttention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over design workPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity with UL 508A standardsExperience working in a system integrator or OEM environmentBackground in automation, machine design, or process control
