The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the hospital, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures. This position requires in-depth knowledge of healthcare financial management principles, including regulatory requirements, revenue cycle management, and financial performance improvement strategies. The Assistant Director of Finance will manage and mentor a finance team, collaborate with hospital leadership, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, while contributing to the hospital's financial stability and growth. Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate, timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial performance and provide insights to improve cost control and revenue optimization. Manage the hospital's revenue cycle, including billing, claims, and reimbursement processes. Identify opportunities for improving cash flow and maximizing reimbursement. Lead the development and monitoring of the hospital's annual operating and capital budgets. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and provide variance analysis to senior management. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining the quality of care and operational efficiency. Monitor departmental budgets, operating costs, and capital expenditures. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including GAAP, Medicare/Medicaid billing rules, tax laws, and other healthcare-specific regulations. Assist in preparing for internal and external audits. Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts, accountants, and other finance professionals. Foster a positive work environment and promote continuous professional development. Contribute to long-term financial planning by providing financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessments. Support strategic decisions through data-driven insights. Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting, bank account management, and short-term investments. Work with the CFO to ensure liquidity and financial stability. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of regulatory financial reporting requirements. Ensure all financial operations meet compliance standards. Collaborate with department heads and senior leadership to align financial goals with hospital operations, ensuring financial targets are met across all areas of the hospital. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's in Accounting Required Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Work Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Finance or Accounting required. Three (3) years of leadership experience required. Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare financial management, including budgeting, cost accounting, and financial forecasting, with a deep understanding of hospital-specific regulations, Medicare/Medicaid billing rules, and reimbursement methodologies. Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, interpret trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic planning. In-depth knowledge of hospital revenue cycles and payer reimbursements, with expertise in optimizing revenue and improving cash flow. Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and developing a diverse finance team, ensuring high performance and adherence to deadlines and deliverables. Expertise in ensuring compliance with healthcare financial regulations, including GAAP, tax laws, healthcare reporting standards, and audit preparation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable strategies for management, department heads, and other stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
