The Before and After School Program Site Coordinator manages daily expanded learning opportunities for students and families outside the regular school day. The position works closely with school and district staff to ensure the program aligns with school-day learning, meets program requirements, and fosters strong partnerships with students, families, and the community. The position leads staff training, monitors program quality and student progress, oversees communication and state reporting. The position coordinates activities in SEL, language, nutrition, fitness/wellness, STEM, and academic enrichment. A key responsibility is building positive relationships and maintaining consistent, effective communication with all program participants and partners. Essential Functions Establishes and maintains positive, respectful relationships with students, families, staff, administrators, and community partners. Coordinates before and after school activities and ensures alignment with school-day curriculum and district goals. Ensures compliance with state, district, and grant requirements, including attendance, safety, food service, and program reporting. Provides proactive student behavior support, addresses concerns, and communicates with families, school, and district staff as needed. Collaborates with the principal, staff, and partners to align program activities with school-day learning and support student success. Ensures programs are adequately staffed, provides staff training, and fills in when needed to maintain program quality and safety. Collects, analyzes, and submits data on student participation, progress, and outcomes within required timelines. Maintains accurate and confidential student records (e.g., registration, attendance, permission forms, health and safety reports). Plans and facilitates family engagement activities, orientations, and regular communication through newsletters, apps, or other platforms. Maintains communication tools such as information boards, schedules, and community resource postings. Solicits input from students, families, and partners to improve program quality. Conducts and documents emergency and safety drills. Attends required training, meetings, and professional development. Demonstrates cultural responsiveness and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Upholds professional conduct and complies with all district policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Other Functions Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications SKILLS are required to perform multiple technical tasks and occasional need to upgrade skills due to changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include communicating with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and supporting the management of programs/grants; and operating standard office equipment including Google and Word based system and pertinent software applications. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: concepts of grammar and punctuation; organizational skills; stages of child development; parent education issues, post-secondary options; codes, policies, laws and regulations related to vocational training for special needs populations; and principles of directing and motivating students. ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with individuals and/or groups from diverse backgrounds; work with data of varied types and/or purposes. In working with others, independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Responsibilities include supporting program development and management at a school site; alternative work schedule. Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, and 30% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Required: Three years experience in youth programs such as academic enrichment, visual/ performing arts, health/nutrition, technology, sports/recreation, etc. Post high school education college coursework and/or training in education, recreation, psychology, health, or other related fields. Proficient computer skills, including Google and Word programs. Experience creating and managing academic and/or enrichment programs for small and large groups of children (i.e. classroom teacher, summer camp, before or after school programs, school day classified staff man; event management). Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures and populations.
