Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial activities of our growing organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, managing accounting operations, leading a talented finance team, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth. This is a critical role that will directly impact the company's success. Responsibilities Possesses a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with familiarity in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as applicable to the region. Demonstrates proven proficiency in managing the monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparing accurate and timely financial statements, and coordinating internal and external audits. Financial Systems & Software Proficiency: Exhibits advanced skills in financial systems and software, including extensive experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks. Possesses strong Excel skills and a demonstrated ability to perform complex data analysis to drive informed decision-making. Leadership & Team Management: Provides strong leadership and effectively manages the accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll teams (currently comprising [Insert approximate number] individuals). Mentors and develops team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing finance team environment. Effectively coordinates with various departments across the organization to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall company strategy. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensures strict adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local tax laws, labor regulations, and internal financial controls. Proactively identifies and mitigates financial risks through the implementation and maintenance of robust internal controls, clear financial policies, and regular audit processes. Strategic Planning & Business Acumen: Provides insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic budgeting, accurate forecasting, and sound decision-making across the organization. Collaborates closely with executive leadership to develop and align financial goals with the overarching company strategy, contributing directly to organizational success. Plays a key role in driving cost management initiatives, supporting strategic growth planning, and conducting thorough investment analysis. Qualifications Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Proven experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, and financial models. Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, labor regulations, and internal financial controls. Experience in managing accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll teams.
