Grassroots Analytics ("GA") maintains a detailed database on more than 20 million active American donors, including data on net worth, ideological preferences, political donation history, non-profit donation history, demographics, and contact information.

Position Overview

The VP of Finance & Operations will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for putting Grassroots Analytics in the strongest financial and operational position possible. This role will lead capital strategy and investor relations, own the company's financial infrastructure, manage key business operations, and develop internal talent. This role is ideal for a highly strategic, hands-on leader who can scale systems, mentor teams, and help drive long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership

Lead capital strategy, including investor relations, cap table management, and fundraising planning. Partner with the CEO to prepare for a 2026 growth round and advise on long-term fiscal planning. Maintain clear financial reporting and manage board communication.

  • Financial Operations

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax, cash flow, and compliance. Manage the internal finance team and outside audit/tax firms. Implement scalable systems and maintain audit-ready books.

  • Business Operations & Infrastructure

Lead revenue operations, contracts, subscriptions, invoicing, office management, and employee experience. Build and manage a metrics system with the Director of Operations. Support internal professional development and cross-functional systems.

  • Team Building & Mentorship

Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing, diverse finance and operations team. Build clear career development paths for junior team members. Model operational excellence and high accountability.

  • Optional: Marketing Oversight (Post-Launch)

Potential to take on strategic management of the Marketing department after 6 months. Build a high-ROI advertising and conversion-focused marketing program tied to new software launch.

Goals & Timeline

  • Fully understand GA's financials, cap table, and develop an initial capital strategy.
  • Gain full visibility into revenue operations and hire an Operations Associate.
  • Take over the 2025 Board Planning Cycle.
  • Assume full responsibility for signing authority and financial stewardship.
  • Develop a cap table management plan (e.g., fundraising, debt, buy-backs, etc.).
  • Ensure the company is on track to hit $5M EBITDA in 2025, despite a $2M software investment.
  • Implement a proactive cash-on-hand management system.
  • Begin executing the cap table management strategy.
  • Potentially take over the Marketing team, developing a high-ROI, conversion-driven software advertising budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of senior-level finance and operations experience in high-growth companies
  • Industry: ideally investment banking, tech or SaaS
  • Track record of leading capital raises and managing investor relations
  • Experience with forecasting, financial reporting, cap table strategy, and operational execution
  • Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship skills

Onsite Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Core hours are 10am-4pm, with two additional hours on either end. 3pm dismissal on Fridays. 3pm dismissal on Mondays for Pre-approved Volunteer Time Off.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $175-200K (Open-Target)

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 33 days/year, with rollover capped at 5 days. Negative PTO capped at 5 days. Additional PTO days accrue yearly up to 40 days.
  • Office closed the week between Christmas and New Year.
