Plant Manager Safeair Facility (Cicero, IL)
Nailor Industries of Texas, Inc. is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of HVAC and air-distribution products, operating multiple facilities including a location in Cicero, Illinois alongside sites in Houston, Las Vegas, Toronto, Calgary, and the UK.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the Safeair facility's manufacturing operations. This includes managing production output, ensuring safety and compliance, optimizing processes, leading teams, and aligning operational performance with corporate goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day operations of the Cicero facility, ensuring production targets (in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost) are consistently met.
- Developing and executing strategic plans to optimize process flow, equipment layout, and space utilization.
- Implementing lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., 5S, continuous improvement) to drive operational excellence.
- Partnering with engineering and production teams to deploy new products and refine existing systems.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA as applicable).
- Fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability through training, audits, and safety programs.
- Managing departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and capital improvement projects.
- Hiring, training, and developing plant leadership and workforce, conducting performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Generating and presenting operational metrics (KPIs) to senior leadership for strategic alignment and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (510+ years) in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and production management tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with HVAC manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication environments.
- Prior exposure to Nailor's product lines (e.g., VAV terminals, air control devices, fan coils, etc.).
- Experience with custom or engineered-to-order products in HVAC or industrial ventilation.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP certification.
