Overview:The Maintenance Planner plays a vital role in coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities within a food manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for planning and organizing preventive maintenance tasks, scheduling repairs, and optimizing maintenance resources to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support production objectives. What You'll Do:Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, maintenance supervisors, and production teams to develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule that ensures minimal disruption to production operations. Utilize maintenance management software (CMMS) to create and prioritize work orders, schedule preventive maintenance tasks, and track equipment history, downtime, and maintenance costs. Plan and organize preventive maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, lubrication, calibration, and parts replacement, to maintain equipment reliability and prolong asset life. Coordinate with maintenance technicians and external vendors to schedule and execute repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance activities in a timely manner to minimize production downtime. Monitor spare parts inventory levels, identify critical spare parts, and procure parts and materials necessary for maintenance activities to ensure availability and minimize equipment downtime. Develop and maintain equipment maintenance plans, job plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide maintenance activities and ensure consistency and compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Conduct regular audits and assessments of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs, reliability issues, and opportunities for improvement, and develop action plans to address findings. Provide technical support and expertise to maintenance technicians and other departments on maintenance-related issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of equipment failures. Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization, and recommend and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and other departments to identify and implement equipment upgrades, modifications, and enhancements to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance. What You Need:Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS), enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, practices, and techniques, including preventive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance technologies. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships. Familiarity with food safety regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP principles. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to achieve maintenance objectives and support production goals. We'd Like to See:Bachelor's degree preferred. Certification in maintenance planning or related fields (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional, Certified Maintenance Planner) is a plus.
