The ideal candidate will possess a compact nursing license and have a minimum of two years of ICU experience. While floating between different critical care units is an essential part of this role, experience in a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Level I facility is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive patient care to adults in various critical settings, adhering to high standards of clinical practice.- Manage a patient ratio ranging from 1:1 to 3:1 based on individual unit requirements.- Float as needed to other ICUs or medical-surgical units while maintaining quality care for a maximum of 4 patients.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams, to provide holistic patient care.- Utilize advanced clinical skills including but not limited to: arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, and central line care.- Conduct thorough patient assessments, implement appropriate care plans, and participate in patient education, particularly in critical care protocols such as anticoagulation management and shock management. Required Qualifications: - Valid PA nursing license and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.- At least two years of recent ICU experience; Critical Care Float Pool experience is an asset.- Proficiency in the EPIC charting system is mandatory.- Prior charge nurse experience is preferred.- Strong clinical skills in managing diverse patient diagnoses, including those requiring post-operative care from cardiothoracic procedures, trauma care, neurocritical care, and burn management. Special Requirements: - Ability to work every weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and every other holiday.- Commitment to patient safety and infection prevention, ensuring compliance with all health regulations and protocols.- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively interact with various healthcare professionals.
