Cambridge Trust A Division of Eastern Bank is hiring a Senior Trust Officer in NH
In accordance with Banks policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations:
- Review and approval of new trust and estate accounts.
- Provide advice and guidance on trust and estate matters.
- Strong judgment and ethical standards are needed to make independent decisions.
- Team focus working with Wealth Management colleagues, partners, and senior leaders to build relationships, provide support, and help to move business forward.
- Strengthens and reinforces CTCs role as trusted advisor providing client-centered advice and guidance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for administering book of business, including completion of internal administrative reviews, working with business partners, following Bank policies and procedures, and meeting the Banks client service standards.
- Engages with other lines of business within Bank to fully serve clients financial needs.
- Participates in required annual administrative reviews of accounts.
- Fiduciary account guidance and expertise:
- Review Banks fiduciary acceptance of new irrevocable trust accounts and estates.
- Review administrative matters regarding trust and estate administration, including, but not limited to, death of a beneficiary, account termination, unitrust calculations, or court action.
- Completes document reviews for trust and estate accounts, including amendments and restatements, nonjudicial settlement agreements, decanting trusts, and court modifications.
- Periodically works with outside trust counsel on trust and estate matters.
- Serves as a voting member of Trust Administration Committee (TAC) reviewing discretionary actions where Bank is serving as a trustee.
- Knowledge of applicable state laws, rules, and regulations, including relevant tax and banking rules and regulations. Assists with business development opportunities specific to trust and estate settlement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Wealth Management, Estate Planning, and/or Trust and Estate Administration. High ethical standards and excellent judgment
- Excellent organization, communication, and client service skills.
- Ability to prioritize, juggle a variety of tasks, operate independently, pay attention to detail, and interact with staff at all levels.
- Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to accept new assignments and pitch-in.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team.
- Valid drivers license.
Education and
- Bachelors Degree in pre-law, business, finance, or equivalent education.
- Bachelor and Law Degrees required.
- Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) and/or Trust School desirable, but not required.
- Licensed to practice in at least one state, New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Massachusetts
- Strong computer skills, including office software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
