Were looking for an Assistant Finance Director who can blend financial expertise with a passion for public service, helping to guide our Village toward a strong and sustainable future.
Responsibilities You Will Have
As the Assistant Finance Director, youll be a key member of our leadership team, working alongside the Finance Director to:

• Manage and oversee accounting, budgeting, payroll, utility billing, and financial reporting functions.
• Develop and present financial reports that clearly tell the Villages financial story.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards (GASB) and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with preparing the annual audit, budget, and multi-year financial plans.
• Supervise and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
• Step into the Finance Directors role when needed, ensuring smooth departmental operations.
  

Qualifications We Are Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Masters or CPA preferred).
• Five or more years of progressively responsible finance experience, ideally in local government.
• Strong grasp of governmental accounting, budgeting, and audit processes.
• A proactive communicator who can translate complex numbers into clear information.
• Tech-savvy with financial systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• A collaborative leader who thrives in a team environment.
