**Description and Requirements**
**General Description:** Manages Employee Benefits insurance accounts and services as their day-to-day contact.
**Major Responsibilities:**
- Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients, and possibly some self-insured clients.
- Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
- Prepare materials for client meetings. Educate, advise, and assist clients on compliance topics such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
- Set up new group insurance contracts for existing or new clients.
- Manage the renewal process, including contractual changes.
- Implement and manage programs like wellness, communications, strategies, and pharmacy.
- Market and place new benefit products as needed.
- Prepare client applications for review.
- Determine the most appropriate carriers and analyze quotes and coverage options.
- Make recommendations, develop strategies, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
- Conduct on-site and virtual meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
- Create employee communications for renewals, enrollments, and benefit changes.
- Provide resolution support for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
- 2-4 years experience in employee benefits or related marketplace; brokerage experience preferred. College degree preferred.
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- Must hold or be willing to earn life and disability insurance licenses.
- Comfortable with internet programs and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technology.
- Handle complex tasks with multiple variables.
