This position is exclusive to RNs holding a valid New York state license, as it is a requirement for submission. Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2, occasionally requiring 1:1 care based on patient acuity.- Manage a variety of complex cases, including but not limited to sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest care, and targeted temperature management.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy to ensure comprehensive patient care.- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic, the primary charting system for this facility. Requirements: - Current and active New York state nursing license (required at the time of application).- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an intensive care setting, with previous charge experience preferred.- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.- Must be willing to work every other weekend and float as necessary throughout the unit.- Experience with critical care procedures and equipment such as CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and Impella. Facility Details: - 16 beds dedicated to critically ill adult and geriatric patients.- Daily census of approximately 16 patients, with a staff that includes nursing, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary professionals.- Facility supports various patient diagnoses and conditions, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment. Contract Details: - Weekly shifts: 4x12 nights from 19:00 to 07:30, with weekends required.- Orientation hours: 36.- Total contract weeks: 91.- Guaranteed hours: 48.
