Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months License: Indiana or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Solid Neuro experience Description: Locals are not accepted. Shifts available are 3x12 or 4x12. This is a dynamic mixed acuity unit comprised of both medical surgical and progressive levels of care. Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. The patient ratio for medical-surgical patients is 1:5-6. The patient ratio for PCU patients is 1:3-4. Nurses will manage patient care involving Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin drips. Unstable strokes and BiPAP patients will be seen. The unit requires experience with Neuro patients. MS/Tele or PCU RNs are welcome to apply. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretaries. Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Candidates should expect to float within the hospital as needed.
