Pay Information $2,806 per week About The Position Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 18-26 Weeks Contract Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required. License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand or be in the application process to apply. Certifications: BLS required. CNOR and CST preferred. Must-Have: - General OR and Trauma experience required. - Level I trauma experience required. - Experience with specified surgical cases across various specialties is required. Description: This is a day shift position in the operating room. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with 23 operating rooms. The contract duration ranges from 18 to 26 weeks. The nurse must have experience with a variety of surgical cases, including general surgery, orthopedic, trauma, neurology, plastic surgery, urology, and transplant. Specific case skills required include laparoscopic assisted cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, cervical fusion, craniotomy, cystoscopy, amputation, and others. Bariatric and trauma experience is also necessary. The nurse will need to respond to codes and engage in emergency management practices. Knowledge of infection control and radiation safety is essential. Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources is required. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Weekend coverage is required once per month. Candidates should expect to be on-call at least once a week. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by management. Candidates must be willing to float within their skill set if necessary.
