Description: This is a day shift position in the operating room. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with 23 operating rooms. The contract duration ranges from 18 to 26 weeks. The nurse must have experience with a variety of surgical cases, including general surgery, orthopedic, trauma, neurology, plastic surgery, urology, and transplant. Specific case skills required include laparoscopic assisted cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, cervical fusion, craniotomy, cystoscopy, amputation, and others. Bariatric and trauma experience is also necessary. The nurse will need to respond to codes and engage in emergency management practices. Knowledge of infection control and radiation safety is essential. Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources is required.
