Pay Information $3,058 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have active IL license to apply Certifications: BLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Required Work Setting Experience: Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response required. Skills in interpreting dysrhythmias and management required. Experience with telemetry monitoring on the unit required. Required skills in post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath. Experience in pre/post cardiac surgery and sheath removal required. Experience in feeding tube care and management required. Skilled in pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure management required. IV therapy skills including accessing ports and arterial line management required. Experience with blood product administration and central line care required. Experience in phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and PICC line management required. Skills in managing heparin protocols and cardiac drips required. Skills in managing vasoactive drips (no titration) required. Experience in procedural sedation administration and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required. Experience in neurological/psychiatric cases including craniotomy and CVA required. Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury required. Experience in orthopedic trauma and total joint replacements required. Experience in skin grafts and surgical drains required. Required skills in respiratory care, including care of ventilated patients. Experience with chest tubes and interpretation of ABGs required. Experience with non-invasive airway management and tracheostomy management required. Knowledge of isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management required. Experience with Cerner charting preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Level I trauma experience is preferred. Description: This position is for a Stepdown/PCU RN. The shift is 3 nights a week, 12 hours per shift. Candidates are expected to work every other weekend. The daily patient ratio is typically 1:4. The unit accepts patients of all diagnoses. Nurses are responsible for a high volume of patient throughput. There is a requirement to float and cover different patient types. Candidates must be able to manage ventilated patients and tracheostomies. All applicants must have the relevant skills and experience as outlined. Professional and collaborative skills are essential. The working environment is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and efficiency. Attendance and punctuality are critical for success in this role.
