Atlantic Group is seeking a Financial Controller on behalf of our client in New York, NY (Hybrid) to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and close processes for a growing manufacturing and distribution company. This hands-on role is ideal for a results-driven professional with strong technical accounting skills and a focus on process improvement. You'll manage the full accounting cycle, mentor staff, and streamline operations to support strategic decisions.
Responsibilities as the Financial Controller:

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Oversee month-end close, prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budget planning and rolling forecasts in alignment with business goals.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, workflow enhancements, and internal control improvements.
• Audit & Compliance: Support external audits, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies.

Qualifications for the Financial Controller:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role, with a preferred background in manufacturing or distribution.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP, with additional experience in financial reporting software preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a proactive mindset, clear communication, and a focus on accuracy and integrity.
